Letter from Dachau concentration camp, written on July 21, 1940, by Stanislaus Michalek to his wife

My dear wife! I am in good health and wish the same for you and our children. Warmest greetings to you and the children. I also send greetings to my mother and father-in-law, and all our relatives. I sent you a card some time ago and then a letter 14 days ago, but I have yet to receive a response. Please respond as soon as possible to let me know how the business is going and who is helping you. If you do not have anyone to turn to, please ask my brothers and yours to help you. Also, please let me know if the cattle and the pub are as I left them. Please do not send any photographs. I have already spent all the money I brought with me. Please write to me in German. I send you my heartfelt greetings and kisses. Your father and husband.
