Letter written on April 4, 1943 by Heinrich Dawicki, age 36, to his parents in Lodz, Poland from Dachau

Dear parents! I received the last letter from March 16th, 1943, for which I sincerely thank you. I also received the package on April 2nd, 1943, for which I thank you all warmly. I have a big request for you, please send a few marks to me again, dear parents. I am in good health and good cheer, which I hope for you as well. I have the hope that we will soon see each other again. Dear Janek and dear Marie! And little Terenia, I send you heartfelt greetings and kisses for all of you and the relations at home. Dear Janek, how are you and your entire family? What do you hear from Aunt Kazika and children and the Zuchowski family? And now greetings and kisses for all. Fare well all my dear parents.

Liebe Eltern! Den letzten Brief erhielt ich vom 16. März 1943, wofür ich Ihnen aufrichtig danke. Auch ich erhielt das Paket am 2. April 1943, wofür ich Ihnen allen herzlich danke. Ich habe eine große Bitte an Sie, bitte schicken Sie mir noch einmal ein paar Mark, liebe Eltern. Ich bin bei guter Gesundheit und guter Laune, was ich auch für Sie hoffe. Ich habe die Hoffnung, dass wir uns bald wiedersehen. Lieber Janek und liebe Marie! Und kleine Terenia, ich sende dir herzliche Grüße und Küsse für dich alle und die Verwandten daheim. Lieber Janek, wie geht es dir und deiner ganzen Familie. Was hört man von Tante Kazika und Kindern und der Familie Zuchowski? Und jetzt Grüße und Küsse für alle. Leb wohl alle meine lieben Eltern.
