Letter written on May 23, 1942, postmarked on the 23rd, by Georg Wolski, age 33, to his wife, Hedwig, in Mielec, Poland from Sachsenhausen

Dearest treasure! I really appreciate you sending me the card on May 12th. The content almost made me feel extremely happy because, reading your letter, only the aunt’s lack of resources and our inability to help her give me any reason to feel slightly upset. For me, nothing has changed, and I continue to be in good health. The weather is already pleasant and warm. Please let me know how much my dearest son has grown and how much he weighs. I'm curious about your current weight and the state of your mother's health as well. What have you heard from the innkeepers? How is the Doctor doing? My greetings to each of you. Allerliebste Dinuda! Deine Karte vom 12 Mai habe ich dankend erhalten. Der Inhalt macht mich fast sehr erfreut; denn, laut deiner Nachricht, nur die fehlende materielle Lage der Tante und die Unmöglichkeit ihr helfen zu können, berührt mich sehr unangenehm. Bei mir ist alles unverändert und ich fühle mich wohl. Bei uns ist schon warm und schönes Wetter. Schreibe mir bitte, wie groß jetzt mein Junge ist und wie viel er schon wiegt? Ich möchte wissen wollen, was für ein Gewicht auch du jetzt hast und wie gesundheitlich die Mutti sich fühlt? Was hört man von deinen Wirtsleuten und über Frau Doktor?
