Letter written and postmarked on June 4, 1944, by Kasimir Malinowski, age 44, to his wife Elli in Lipno, Poland from Gusen

My dear Elu & children! I received a letter dated May 10 and packages on September 24 and 30, May 3, 8, and 15 that contained bread and cake as well as meat from Josia. Fat must be properly packaged, such as in a jam tin, margarine paper, or the way Josia does it. Here's another possibility: I'm in excellent health, and I'm delighted you're all doing well. Hyszek & Lucynka need to study my language a lot.  Write to me about this. Everything about the Bajcek folk affair has gone exactly how he wanted. Thank you for thinking of me and the kids. I often think about you, wondering how things are going at home and what you might look like. My sincere greetings and kisses go out to you, Hyszek, Lucynka, as well as to our respective families. Sincerely, PS: Warm regards to Stefan, Irka, and all your friends

Meine liebe Elu u. Kinder! Hyszek u. Lucynka sollen viel in meiner Sprache lernen.
