My dear Sznupus! From the bottom of my heart, I wish good health to you and everyone dear to me. Thank you for the letters dated April 14 and May 3. I also received one parcel from you on May 8; I appreciate it. On the 20th, I received a letter from Aleks. Sweetie, the fact that you must celebrate your fifth name-day and birthday without me is not my fault; fate intended it that way. But I send you, dear, many wishes on all your days in the full conviction that we will be reunited again. May God bring you good health, a long life, the fulfillment of all your wishes, and a peace for all of us. There won't be any hardship for you when I return, instead, we will enjoy our bliss, have our first children, and everything else will follow. Envision our future. Please, extend my greetings to all your acquaintances, including Martin, Aleks and his family, Aunt Lewandowski, Antos, Stasia and the kids. Sweetie, I send you my love and kisses.

Kochanie es sind schon die fünften Geburts- und Namenstagsfeier, die du ohne mich so verbringen musst, und es ist ja nicht meine Schuld, das Schiksal wollte es so. Aber im festen Glauben an ein glückliches Wiedersehen sende ich dir Liebchen an den Tagen viel Wünsche, gebe dir Gott Gesundheit, ein langes Leben, das alle deine Wünsche in Erfüllung gehen, für uns alle ein baldigen Frieden. Wenn ich zurückkehre, dann werden wir unser Glück genießen, die ersten Kinder, dann das weitere, aber eine Not für dich gibt es dann nicht mehr.
