The Hitler Youth (Hitlerjugend) was established by Adolf Hitler in 1926 to indoctrinate children with Nazi ideology and prepare them for military service. Membership was initially voluntary, but became mandatory for all non-Jewish German youth between the ages of 10 and 18.

The general SS handled police and administrative duties, including "racial hygiene". It was notorious for its brutality and enforcing persecution of Jews, Romani people, and other “undesirables”. The SS-Totenkopfverbände (Death's Head Units) ran the concentration and extermination camps.

Sturmabteilung-Wehrmannschaft          [Assault department-Defense team]  The members were usually older men not fit for regular military service, but still required to undergo military training and participate in civil defense. The Stormtroopers were known for their brutality and violence and were potent instruments of street terror during Hitler's rise to power. By the early 1930s, SA membership reached three million, far outnumbering the German Army.
